Side Gigs and an Abundance Mindset, with Laura Brenner, DDS

     In this episode of The Future of Dentistry, Anne Duffy is joined by Laura Brenner, DDS. Dr. Brenner owns Lolabees, a career coaching business that seeks to help dental professionals figure out if dentistry is right for them.

     Dr. Brenner shares her story of how she got burned out on dentistry and left, only to return to the industry later on as a dental coach. She explains how her blog post (“10 Reasons Your Dentist Probably Hates You Too”) going viral showed her that there were other practitioners who felt the same way. She and Anne discuss the fact that dentistry doesn’t have to be the destination or end goal, but can just be a part of one’s life that helps teach someone who they are.

     Dr. Brenner and Anne talk about Dr. Brenner’s Facebook group called “Dentist Side Gigs” that encourages dental professionals to diversify. She explains her belief that everyone should have a side gig, and how it can help to maintain an abundance mindset.
